Tracing the Path of Voting Rights: Past, Present, and Future

"Tracing the Path of Voting Rights: Past, Present, and Future" will examine the status of voting rights, including New Jersey election law and voter protections provided by the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and explore ways to safeguard and enhance access to the polls.

New Jersey Division on Civil Rights Director of Outreach and Community Relations Tee Leonardo-Santiago will give opening remarks followed by a panel of local voting rights experts moderated by New Jersey Division on Civil Rights Community Relations Specialist Kai Durant.

Panelists are:

  • Toni Hendrix, 2nd Vice President New Brunswick NAACP 
  • Henal Patel, Law and Policy Director, New Jersey Institute for Social Justice 
  • Alejandra Sorto, Campaign Strategist, ACLU of New Jersey
