But barriers to language access continue to prevent people from exercising their basic rights and accessing essential services.
New Jersey has some of the greatest linguistic diversity in the country, making language access even more crucial in the Garden State. The ACLU-NJ advocates for the recognized right to interpretation and translation services, including in the areas of the criminal legal system, voting, and government services and processes.
