The following statement can be attributed to ACLU-NJ Executive Director Amol Sinha:

“The ACLU of New Jersey urges all university administrators across the state to remain true to their commitment to foster discourse and debate, even when contentious, and respect the foundational constitutional values of free speech and peaceful protest. Especially in challenging times, it’s imperative that colleges and universities resist any pressure to address demonstrations with force or impose harsh punishment on students for protesting. Free expression is central to productive dialogue and is a cornerstone of our democracy – colleges and universities must be committed to embracing and defending it.”
